about

Another IWW tune, this one is attributed to an "unnamed proletariat" (though it could have been Upton Sinclair). It seems to have been written as a poem to satirize one written by Rudyard Kipling. I first heard it on a Utah Phillips album of the same name. Of all the IWW red book tunes, the lyricism of this one always struck me.
